Vivek Gahlaut, Know More about his inspiring journey!
In his early age, Vivek was one of the talented students who was also eager to learn new things. Being concerned towards his education, Vivek started his educational journey from the National Institute of Technology Kurukshetra and earned his engineering degree in 1997. After his graduation, Vivek joined Toshiba in New Delhi, India, where he worked in the TV picture tube manufacturing facility. This was his first corporate experience in his young age but during his period at Toshiba he received an experience in manufacturing that built his solid background in the process of how factories work, which prepared him for his future employment opportunity.
After his successful learning tenure at Toshiba, Vivek decided to expand his knowledge in the same field and with this vision, he moved to the United States in 2001 to get an MBA in International Finance at Thunderbird Graduate School of Management in Arizona. His decision to grab more knowledge changed the structure of his work as it helped him to enhance advanced knowledge and skills which were needed to do well in the global financial industry.
In 2003, when Vivek earned his master’s degree in MBA, he restarted his professional career and joined Ernst & Young in New York in the Financial Services Advisory group. Over the next six years, he managed a big team and guided his team on multiple projects related to accounting, cash management, and financial risk management. He grew rapidly and started assisting many big clients such as Top banks, asset managers, hedge funds, and insurance companies.
With his extensive expertise, he performed exceptionally at Ernst & Young and became famous as a leader in the Finance service industry. During his last few years in New York, Vivek started providing individual consultancy where he gave personalized financial advice to his personal clients.
Vivek always has a vision to invest in his homeland India, and after spending such a successful professional career, he went back to India in 2010 with his plan to invest in the health and wellness industry. He established and ran five health and wellness clubs as well as a business that started selling gym equipment.
With his tireless efforts and vision to bring some positive image to the industry, his businesses quickly became the market leaders where he set new standards in the business world with his dedication to quality and new ideas in the businesses he ran. Vivek also ran a family angel fund that invested in tech startups and helped India’s tech industry grow quickly.
Vivek Gahlaut has undergone remarkable transformations during every phase of his life. He is an International Businessman who has handled several operations in three different nations from being a young engineer in India. Over the course of his more than 23 years of professional experience, Vivek has made significant contributions to the disciplines of commodity trading, health and wellness medicine, and finance.
After running a successful business in India, Vivek Gahlaut moved to Dubai, UAE, in 2013. And in November 2014, he entered in the business when he co-founded Terra Firma Commodities DMCC with his partner Amol Awasthi. The company focuses on rice commerce and distribution in West Africa, sourcing from its key origin countries such India, Thailand, and Vietnam. Vivek Gahlaut also led Terra Firma Commodities to add fresh cashew nuts, sugar, pasta, and frozen foods to its list of products. Vivek used a good sense of strategy and can handle tricky global markets which resulted that by the end of 2021, the company has made USD 90 million in sales.
Vivek really cares about sustainable food production and is eager for techniques by which the community can become more integrated with its past. His goal is to help key markets becoming food-self-sufficient so that they can stay healthy and grow in the long run.
